BDI Group Code of Conduct

When becoming a member of Berkshire Driving Instructors it is expected that all members will abide by the following code.

Respect Others

We are all in this together to create a welcoming environment for everyone. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but keep it friendly, polite disagreement is required.
No hate speech or bullying
Make sure that everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed, and degrading comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

No promotions or Spams

Give more to the groups then you take. Self-promotion and spam and irrelevant links are not allowed. If you persist you will be removed from the BDI. If you would like to send or post something non driving related, email it to committee first at bdicommittee@gmail.com, and we will let you know if it is okay to send it on.

Respect everyone’s privacy

Being part of the BDI requires mutual trust. Authentic expressive discussions make the groups great, but also maybe sensitive and private. What’s shared in the group, should stay in the group.

The BDI has several groups: –
The Gmail group is the only one where all BDI members chose to join.
This is ideal for contacting other members for help and advice, as well as telling you about upcoming meetings.
There are two WhatsApp groups one is for urgent things e.g. for traffic problems, one WhatsApp group is for banter.
The BDI Facebook group is for silly clips or photos of the BDI socials.

In addition to the above members will also abide by the DVSA code of conduct

Should a member fail to abide by the above code the committee have the right to remove the member.
